Degree Requirements

Your degree requirements depend upon the year in which you started the psychology program and on the Faculty in which you were admitted.
If you were admitted to York University in or after 2014 , please select the first drop down menu below  that will provide you with more information.
If you were admitted to York University before 2014, please select the second  drop down menu and then find the year that you were admitted.

Students accepted to York from 2006 to 2013

In 2006 – 2007 the newly merged Department of Psychology (formerly “Psychology, Arts” and “Psychology, Atkinson”) moved to the Faculty of Health. As such, degree requirements depend upon the faculty in which the student was admitted to York and the year in which they started the psychology program.

You were accepted to York for Fall/Winter 2012 or afterwards
There are new degree requirements for the BSc program and for the Specialized honours degree program (BA and BSc). Please refer to the appropriate part in the Department of Psychology 2012 supplemental undergraduate calendar and/or the 2012 university calendar in order to see what these new degree requirements are.
You were accepted to York for Fall/Winter 2009 - 2013
There are new degree guidelines for both the BA and the BSc (90 and 120 credit degrees) as of September 2009, please see the undergraduate calendar for details.
You were accepted to York for Fall/Winter 2008

Students who started their undergraduate psychology degree September 2008 should review the faculty guidelines for degree requirements, (please see the 2008 undergraduate calendar). If you detect any discrepancies or are unsure contact the undergraduate office for an advising appointment.

For students who started their undergraduate psychology degree as of September 2007.

For students who started their undergraduate psychology degree for Fall/Winter 2006 ONLY
If you started your undergraduate program on or after September 2006 you must choose to follow either the Faculty of Arts or Atkinson Faculty guidelines.
